Roland Boekhout appointed as CEO of de Volksbank
Upon nomination of the Supervisory Board, shareholder NLFI has appointed Roland Boekhout, who will take on the role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as a member of the Executive Board of de Volksbank as per 22 May 2024. Roland succeeds Martijn Gribnau, who indicated in December 2023 that he would not be available for a second term as CEO. The Works Council has rendered advice and supports the appointment. The appointment has been approved by the European Central Bank. Roland’s term of office will expire at the 2028 General Meeting of Shareholders.
Roland Boekhout has over 30 years of international experience in the banking sector, both in the retail and corporate markets. He held various commercial and managerial positions at ING Group and Commerzbank. From 2010 to 2017, Roland was CEO of ING Germany. Prior to that he was CEO of ING Commercial Banking Central and Eastern Europe. In 2017, he joined the Management Board Banking of ING Group and was responsible for the banking activities in the Benelux. After leaving ING Group, he became a member of Commerzbank’s Board of Managing Directors, where he was responsible for corporate clients across the world. Until recently, Roland was a consultant with McKinsey, one of the largest global strategy consulting firms.

Composition of the Executive Committee
With effect from 22 May 2024, the Executive Committee will consist of seven members. Roland Boekhout (CEO), André Haag (CFO), Saskia Hoskens (CRO) and Marinka van der Meer (CCO) are the statutory members. In addition, three non-statutory members serve on the Executive Committee: Jacqueline Touw-Conradi (CPOO), Michel Ruijterman (CIO) and a CFCO (yet to be filled).
