Compensation for holders of expropriated SNS REAAL and SNS Bank securities
The Dutch Ministry of Finance will pay compensation to holders of expropriated SNS REAAL and SNS Bank securities and capital components. The compensation also applies to holders of a series 3 SNS Participation Certificate and holders of an expropriated loan.
On 21 April 2023, the Supreme Court confirmed that certain holders of expropriated SNS REAAL and SNS Bank securities and capital components (subordinated bonds) are entitled to compensation (damages) from the Dutch government. These damages are to compensate for the expropriation of SNS REAAL and SNS Bank in 2013. Claimholders of an expropriated loan or a series 3 SNS Participation Certificate are also to be awarded damages.
Holders of an expropriated loan or a series 3 SNS Participation Certificate who are entitled to compensation will be contacted by the Ministry of Finance.
